For more than ten years, I have been working as professional translator in different positions. I started my career in 2007 as project manager at a translation service provider. Afterwards, I worked as in-house translator at an IT company, where I was responsible for translations from English into German of software user interfaces, license agreements, terms and conditions, manuals, apps, website content, marketing material, e-learning modules and much more.
I have translated all kinds of documents but in recent years I have discovered my passion for legal topics and in particular legal translations. Due to the complexity of the “legalese” language, the translation of legal texts is demanding and requires the highest level of accuracy and precision. Moreover, legal texts have to be written in a language that is easy to understand.
As freelance translator and skilled language professional, I offer translation, writing and editing services in the legal area. My focus is on translations from English into German (mother tongue) and my main clients include translation agencies, law firms, in-house legal/compliance departments, legal professionals and private individuals.
I hold a M.A. in Translation Studies from the University of Heidelberg (Germany) and CAS (Certificate of Advanced Studies)/DAS (Contracts) in Paralegalism from ZHAW School of Management and Law (Winterthur, Switzerland). In June 2018, I will finish my LL.M. studies in International Business Law (specialization in Mergers & Acquisitions) at the University of Zurich (Switzerland).
I mainly translate the following documents:
- General legal texts and correspondence
- Legal textbooks
- Contracts and agreements of all kinds
- Website content, disclaimers
- Software license agreements
- Witness testimonies, expert opinions
- Corporate legal documents (Articles of Association, non-disclosure agreements, meeting minutes, memorandum of understanding, etc.)
*Please note that I do not offer certified translations.
I am looking forward to working with you.
